New job & journalism work exp.

I'm so happy to announce I finally have a new part-time job and it's at...Crew Clothing!!! I'm so excited simply because I've got a job in fashion retail. Even though I absolutely love waitressing and have done it for 3 years I've just wanted to work with clothes for so long and now I finally can so woop woop go me and thanks for hiring me Crew, so much love.

Holidays are also nearly over (boo), but for me my gap year is about to begin so this is a really exciting time for me. I'm very keen on getting into journalism, primarily fashion journalism, so I've got work experience sorted at some newspapers and magazines these so far include: the Gloucester Citizen newspaper in Cheltenham, the Cotswold Style magazine (also in Cheltenham) and New magazine in London (and hopefully I'll have some more soon). Basically this post is a little call for anyone who is interested in journalism to keep a look out for my blog posts about my experience and what I get up to. I'm even thinking of doing some vlogs, but I'm not 100% sure yet (we'll see how it rolls). I'll also be doing a work experience style diary when I'm back so keep a look out for that too! So now I'm not going to be blogging for maybe about 2 weeks as I start Monday and wont have time to fit it in, but be patient with me guys and ready for lots of interesting posts on what it's like in a newspaper/magazine environment when I'm back - stay with me!

Lady.

I just love light/neutral colours with a bit of lace, I think the two together are defiantly a lady's bestfriend. I find that lace can have two takes and make us feel different things which is another reason why I love it: 1. It can make us feel elegant and dainty if we opt for neutral colours 2. It can have a more vibrant affect and make us feel sexy and daring if we go for the darker colours such as red, black, burgundy and royal blue. Seen as my outfit is made up of light colours I thought I'd go for some dark purple lips, big hair with big earrings which made me feel like I was opting for the Dolce & Gabbana look (you know how they're magazine adverts always consist of warm hair tones/make-up and lots of jewels).

silver suit trousers

I bought these trousers a while ago now from H&M in the sale because very soon, next week infact, I'll be starting my work experience at the Citizen newspaper in Cheltenham (so all those interested in journalism/media keep your eyes peeled for posts aswell as a work experience style diary). I love the fact these trousers are silver not the standard black which makes them a little more girly and different, but still have a smart tailored look and style to them (and now they are only £8 in the sale!). To make them look a little more casual I just paired them with a long white tee, sunglasses & kitten heels so I don't completely look like I'm off to work but still feel stylish. Also apologies everyone that I literally wear these shoes in every post but I'm so short I need to add a bit of height to my body otherwise I'm a dwarf.

the khaki skirt

Sorry for not blogging again for a long time guys I have been in Malta and was unable to bring my lappy, but now I will be blogging lots so stay tuned!

To be honest the colour 'khaki' is not my cup of tea. It reminds me of baby poo and I don't exactly see it as pretty and cheerful, but now I feel like a little bit of a hypocrite as I love black and that's not exactly cheerful either... Anyway, with Summer drawing soon to an end I thought it was about time I try my H&M khaki skirt which I bought two Summers ago (how bad is this?!). When it came down to the styling it wasn't all that bad. I wanted to turn this nasty green colour (in my opinion, you never know I may end up loving it one day), into a stylish staple. Teaming the skirt with my floaty H&M top, kitten heels and cat-eye sunglasses gave the skirt a touch of softness and made my outfit look chic, allowing me to add on my large white handbag from La Moda. Now I'm feeling this skirt 50% more than I was before.

Also, I thought I'd chuck in my overall A-level results as I'm so so pleased and shocked at how I did. I got A A C and I couldn't be happier, even though I put the hard work in I never though that these would be my ending results.

Results day ft. London

Omgggg it's results day and I can only say one thing. Shit. Yes I'm not going to look forward getting out the car today because if my results haven't moved then I'll be a tiny bit worried. This is why there is a bit of black in this outfit (it's a day of mourning). Anyway, if my results go bad I can try and forget about it on my way to London later as Friday I'm flying to Malta with the fam and boyfriend so I'm excited for that, so expect a little lack of blogging guys but there will be lots to come when I'm back as September is my birthday month (woop woop!).To everyone out there getting results today a huge good luck to you all. We will be fine (hopefully).

This sounds terribly sad but I was so desperate to share this travel bag with you all as I was searching for one for ages and then I found this £12 one from Primark which is perfecto! It's spacious and being black with a simple pattern on the front keeps it looking classy. I still think black and white outfits are a win win for any day and with slick hair and cat eye sunnies I'm feeling rather classy.

fluff & denim...

Ok so basically I'm really really excited for Autumn and Winter. I do love the sunshine don't get me wrong (who doesn't), but I do love the atmosphere of Autumn. Eating hot food, teas, baths, fluffy clothes and blankets - I just love it! I think that's why I introduced some fluff into my outfit because I'm kind of raving about the new fashion season which will be upon us sooner than we think!

As always I'm a high street bargain bug so take a look below where my items are from. Also, I had an interview the other day guys so can we just please all pray for me that I may have the chance of getting it as I really really want it (if you hear nothing after this post I didn't get the job).

Are you excited for A/W14 fashion?

Holiday style day 4

I love playsuits and I'm loving pastel blue, so when I saw this playsuit in Primark at only £14 it was a must have. I think playsuits are great, especially for Summer because you can style them in so many different ways. The reason I styled mine twice is because I wanted to create a daytime look (the first set of photos) and a more of an evening look (the second set of photos), as when you camp in the evening the temperature drops so it's better to wrap up a little.

In my daytime look I styled my playsuit with some purple earrings as I was feeling a contrast. These are from Buried by Jewellers which do some gorgeous unique earrings for just £4. Since I was by the sea I thought I'd go 'all out blue' with my little pastel blue cross body bag, also from Primark and which comes in a range of different colours (monochrome included).

My second look with the playsuit is as you can see. Simple. I still love turtlenecks from last Winter and this cotton one from Matalan gives just the right amount of warmth for that breezy weather on the campsite. I felt the outfit looks like something Marilyn Monroe would wear on the beach too so I was feeling good. Which look do you prefer?

Photoshoot with Clifton Photographic Company...

Well hey everyone! Long time and no speak from me. Recently I was lucky enough to be offered a complimentary shoot with Clifton Photographic Company as I was entered into their prize draw when I was strolling through Cabot Circus and I was offered the shoot because I've been put through to the next stage of their competition.

My day with Clifton Photography was amazing. You know how a lot of photography places can give you an offer which seems too good to be true because they're trying to scam you? Well Clifton Photography are not like that at all, I grilled them on the phone as I was slightly unsure about the amazing offer they were giving me, but they were completely genuine and honest and I'm so glad I went.

My day started by being greeted by one of the staff at Clifton Photography and they are so so lovely they go that little step further when it comes to taking care of you so you feel like royalty. I was offered drinks from Bucks Fizz to tea, coffee, orange juice you name it and there was a basket of biscuits to also keep me going. I then went to get my hair and make up done, but before all that glamour a little facial was needed (royalty treatment!). My make up artist Ruth was incredible. I usually get a little unsure about people doing my make-up simply because I get scared they will go too adventurous as I like keeping my make up quite natural, but Ruth got it just right and I couldn't be happier with the result. My hair stylist was also lush and she created soft bouncy waves which I adored. Next was the actual shoot. I was a tad nervous because even though people think 'bloggers aren't camera shy they are having their photos taken all the time', nuh-uh. Yes bloggers don't usually get nervous having their photos done, because someone they're comfortable with is actually taking them. My photographer was great though he helped me every step of the way and I loved seeing different back drops and how a real photographer actually works.

One of the best parts of the day was that I was given a £60 voucher to spend so I was able to buy one picture from the shoot so I can always remember the experience which was extremely generous of the guys at Clifton Photographic Company AND I got a bag full of make-up AND Bucks Fizz (how awesome is that?!). My day was fantastic and I'm so grateful to Clifton Photographic Company in Bristol for the amazing experience and treating me literally like a celebrity. If you haven't heard of them before as you can tell from my post and the pictures above that I'd recommend it to anyone, this isn't a company that will mess you around they are professional and genuine.

Holiday style day 3

So here is my 3rd outfit from my holiday and it's cheap cheap cheap you'll be pleased to hear. All items are under £15 so I think I've done pretty well. The bag was sent to me by the lovely Justfor5Pounds and is a perfect holiday bag which you can buy here (I'll let you guess the price). I know this children's kimono from H&M has featured on my blog so many times but I love it so so much and it was only £10. Also, my perfect wet hair beach earrings are from H&M. The shorts are last years Primark (sorry :/) they were around £7, but have loads of similar ones so there's still hope! So the most expensive item in this outfit is the bikini top which was £12.99 from H&M so overall I'm pretty chuffed with myself that out of the whole outfit the bikni comes out on top.

Sometimes I know it's really frustrating trying to find bargains while shopping, but I promise you they are out there. Plus once you create an outfit at a great price you will be chuffed with yourself and this outfit justifies you can be beach ready at a good price.

Holiday style day 2: dads denim

I confess this is not my shirt it's my dads and also I'm not a fan of denim either, but I was desperate to have a oversized shirt as a dress for holiday and when I tried this one on I didn't think it looked too bad. Oversized shirts are perfect for holidays I think because they're light and airy and if it's sunny you can have the sleeves rolled up and when it gets a tad chilly you can just roll them down (not forgetting this look is really cheap to create as I'm not full of money) .

So that it didn't look like I was wearing a potato sack I added a belt to squeeze in the waist which was from H&M and was probably around £6/£7. I love my key necklace from Rebellion Frase (if you haven't checked them out before click here as they have lovely unique jewellery at fabulous prices) and I think it's really cute how they incorporate 'love' as part of the key. If you can't use your dads shirt how about a brother, boyfriend or just buy a really cheap one from H&M in the men's section?

Are you a fan of the oversized shirt look? How would you style yours?
